This loose-fitting baby sacque opens down the front and ties with ribbons Lace shaping and tatted edging trim the lower edge and embroidery embellishes the sides at the front opening. An embroidered, scalloped edge collar is attached to the slightly gathered neck edge. Full, set in gathered sleeves are simply embroidered. Entredeux is used to set in the sleeves. The matching bonnet features a scalloped embroidered band and tatted edging. A detached butterfly adorns the back crown, which is attached to the bonnet with entredeux. The matching set of sandal booties are styled with an open heel and embroidered uppers which are trimmed with tatted edging. All three pieces feature an embroidery technique known as Broderie Anglaise. The most distinguishing characteristics of the technique are embroidered eyelets, satin stitched leaves, and buttonhole scalloping. Other techniques include detached buttonhole stitch, stem stitch, and Granito dots and flowers.
